FIFA 14

FIFA 14  is the upcoming edition of Electronic Arts’ FIFA video game series, developed by EA Canada. The game is expected to be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 24, 2013 in North America and September 26, 2013 for other regions. The game will also be released for Windows, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Wii,Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita – including next-generation systems PlayStation 4 and Xbox One – and on devices running Android and iOS operating systems. The mobile version of the game for Android and iOS has been announced as free to play. A demo of the game will be released worldwide on September 10, 2013, two weeks before the launch of the full game, on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Features

Career Mode

Career mode has been revamped. Additions include a Global Scouting Network through most countries, which allows hiring a scout to search for talent all season from various clubs globally. The Career Mode hub navigation has also been redesigned, with fewer interruptions and live scouting reports. Managers are now able to develop, build and refine their network of scouts, gathering details on the attributes and traits of players. This way of playing Career Mode also moves away from the concept of player overall rating as an on-demand metric of a player’s abilities. Instead, communication with scouts determines what type of player is wished.

Licenses

Following an agreement between the Union of Professional Football Players of Montenegro, FIFA Pro and EA Sports, for the first time Montenegro national football team will be featured in upcoming FIFA 14 as a fully licensed team, as well as in next FIFA game series. 20 Brazilian clubs are licensed: 19 are from the 2013 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A season (Bahia has not been licensed) as well as Palmeiras.[7] FIFA 14 will also include Chile’s Campeonato Nacional Petrobras, Colombia’s Liga Postobón and the Argentine Primera División. The Brazilian national team has also been licensed after not being licensed since FIFA 10.

Ignite

Bundesliga clubs Borussia Dortmundagainst Bayern Munich in FIFA 14

A new engine called the Ignite Engine will be used in FIFA 14 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. This features both graphical and game play changes such as Human Intelligence to make players react more like the real thing, True Player Motion to create more realistic movement from the players and more realism to the way environmental features like weather and stadium crowd dynamics develop during play.

Ultimate Team

The FIFA Ultimate Team game mode will feature exclusive downloadable content on the Xbox One. On the Xbox One, there is a new feature for Ultimate team known as Legends, where players can acquire classic players from different eras of football such as Pelé and Freddie Ljungberg.

Online features

A new 2v2 online seasons mode, known as Co-op Seasons, has been announced where players can play with one other friend against 2 online players. Match Day has also been expanded to affect online seasons modes.

Lionel Messi will return as the main cover star for all regions on the global cover, having been on the cover for FIFA 13 and FIFA Street. It will be the first time that the FIFA Soccer name will not be used in North America. The United States will have both the global cover, as well as the cover with Javier Hernández.
